Walmer Group was established to centralise all UK funding opportunities into one place.
There’s no doubt UK companies are always on the lookout for new sources of funding. In the ever-changing economic landscape, Walmer Group is a one-stop hub to provide information, assistance and expertise in both government and private funding.
Our Management Team
We have a combined experience of 30 years within tax and finance.
Starting his career at PwC, Jenson was able to leave his Yorkshire roots to explore the London tax landscape, transferring from the Leeds Private Business team to the Insurance team. After PwC, he then had roles at Leyton within Innovation Funding, at Deloitte within Tax Management Consultancy and most recently, as the Chief Operating Officer for Bonham and Brook, a boutique innovation tax consultancy.
Jenson’s role within Walmer Group is to lead the Government Funding services and to manage internal operations and group strategy.
Jenson is a member of HMRC’s Research & Development Consultative Committee.
Hannad started his career a little earlier than most, learning to develop websites and software programs from his early teenage years. He then went on to study Computing at the University of the West of England (UWE), achieving a First-Class Honours while completing an internship at Hewlett Packard.
Hannad then moved from Bristol to London to join Leyton where he specialised as a Software Consultant within R&D tax sector. He then followed his entrepreneurial endeavours and founded a software development agency, which specialised in helping start-up companies build digital solutions.
Hannad's role within Walmer Group will be to lead the software development offering and manage our internal technology platforms, keeping Walmer Group up to date with the most innovative technological solutions.
James began his career as a dealer’s assistant at a boutique stockbroking firm, before running the sales and business development team at Australia’s leading private investment platform for almost 5 years.
James moved to the UK to establish and grow the regional office for a New Zealand founded SaaS company and then worked directly for the Founder and CEO of an AI-driven child safeguarding application. Currently, he works for a carbon trading exchange as Head of Sales & Trading, helping companies and organisations in buying and selling carbon offsets.
Graham is a Non-Executive Director of Walmer Group, forming part of our Advisory Board.
Graham has spent over 20 years as a corporate tax professional, 17 of those years as an HMRC Tax Inspector.
Originally graduating from Durham University in Molecular Biology and Biochemistry, he joined the Inland Revenue (now HMRC) in 2000, completing the core professional training program and went onto be one of the founding members of the Specialist R&D Tax Credits team in Cambridge in 2006. His expertise saw him go onto handle many of the largest and most complex R&D claims received by HMRC.
Our Story
Walmer Group’s founders have come from differing backgrounds, bringing accounting & tax, investor relations, sustainability and technology together. Hand in hand, our expertise will help to ease a company’s funding journey, by centralising both government and private funding opportunities into one place. Each founder has experienced the pitfalls of their respective sectors and therefore Walmer Group was established to create a community that provides essential information, assistance and expertise in both government and private funding.
